New Free Methodist Parish Opened in Buterere
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the Nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded to you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age”. Matt 28: 19-20
Buterere is a zone located in the North-West of Bujumbura, the capital city of Burundi. That zone used to be known as the poorest area of Bujumbura, but things are now changing.
The Free Methodist Church of Burundi started its work of Evangelism in Buterere in February 2005 when a local church was settled there with a membership of 12 believers.
Today, the church has 128 adult full members and 73 children between the age of 5 and 17 active in Evangelism, Worship of the Lord and responding to spiritual and physical needs of the surrounding community.
This Sunday, November 06th, 2016, we celebrated the inaugural ceremonies of the new Parish of Buterere and the official appointing of the 2 pastors newly accredited there; those are Rev. Jean Ndimuruvugo and P. Donatien Ndayisaba (Pictured down here)
Guests of Mark included the superintendant of the West Annual conference Rev. Martin Ntahonkiriye and many others.
Buterere was one of the areas touched by the unrest events of April 2015, but now there is full security and people do their daily activities without problems, the church reaches out the community without security problems. All the church members, children, youth and adult praise God for the mighty things He has done.
